Here are some easy ways to draw fish that you can put in your sketchbook or doodle page.

I've tried to include a lot of different kinds so that you can find an idea that fits your level of drawing skill or interest.

I suggest making a pencil sketch of your drawing first, then going over it with an ink pen and wiping away your pencil sketch. I hope this is helpful, and have fun!

30 Ideas for Healthy Snacks That Won't Mess Up Your Diet

When you have a craving in the middle of the day or right before bed, it can be hard to ignore it (if we can, in fact, ignore them). When you're trying to stick to a certain diet, it can be hard to figure out what snacks are okay and which ones you should probably skip without looking at the ingredients list or doing a Google search.

But you don't have to completely ignore your cravings. Instead, you just need to snack smarter. Instead of reaching for a bag of potato chips or cookie dough ice cream and hoping it fits into your diet plan (you probably checked if it was keto before you bought it, right? ), there are plenty of easy snack options that will satisfy any craving.

We put together a list of 30 healthy snacks that can satisfy even the worst cravings. These snacks are full of good things, which means they also have other benefits that are good for your health. This makes them even more enjoyable.

Mixed bag

Trail mix is a healthy snack because it is made of nuts, seeds, and dried fruit. It has a lot of protein (hello, nuts), is good for your heart, and can help lower your blood sugar (looking at you dried fruit). Healthline says that the seeds in your trail mix are likely to have a lot of minerals and vitamins, such as magnesium. So, while your trail mix gives you energy when you're feeling tired in the afternoon, it also keeps your heart healthy.

One thing to remember is that not every trial mix is the same. Some can have a lot of sugar in them because of all the chocolate and candy that is added. (Listen, we like M&Ms as much as the next person, but you might want to leave them out of your trail mix.) Stick to trail mix with dark chocolate if you want something sweet. When adding ingredients or buying a pre-made trail mix, make sure to look for raw, unsalted ingredients. This keeps the amount of sodium low and lets you really taste the flavors of these tasty ingredients.

Fresh berries on Greek yogurt

We love Greek yogurt because it tastes good and is thicker than regular yogurt, which helps us feel full longer. Add some fresh berries, and you have a healthy sweet treat. Medical News Today says that Greek yogurt not only makes you feel full, but it also speeds up your metabolism. Berries, on the other hand, are a great addition not just because they taste good, but also because they are low in calories and have many health benefits, such as helping the brain work better (because they are high in anthocyanidins) and fighting cancer (according to Driscoll's). Still not sold? Geisinger Health says that berries, especially blackberries, can also help fight inflammation.

Mix your favorite berries with plain Greek yogurt for a sweet snack that will keep you full and energized. This is a great treat on its own, but you can also drizzle honey on top to make it sweeter or sprinkle granola on top to give it a little more crunch.

Nuts

Nuts are a good choice for a healthy snack because they have a lot of fiber, protein, and healthy fats. If you want to lose weight, Livestrong says that nuts are a good choice because they keep you full longer than other snacks. Even though all nuts are healthy, different kinds have different benefits. For example, hazelnuts have a lot of folate, which helps your cells grow, and Brazil nuts have a lot of selenium, which can help with thyroid disease.

Just make sure you don't eat too much when you snack. Even though nuts are full of good fats, it's easy to eat too many of them. The best way to get all the benefits nuts have to offer is to eat them in moderation, like all good things. And don't buy nuts that are covered in salt or sugar. Instead, buy nuts that are still raw. The Mayo Clinic says that even though these may taste good, they aren't as healthy as raw nuts.

Popcorn

Popcorn is a great snack, and you don't even have to be in a movie theater to enjoy it (in fact, it's probably better if you're not, since a large popcorn at your favorite theater can have more than your daily dose of sodium and almost 1000 calories). So, even though we might think of popcorn as a big tub of buttery stuff, you should really snack on a healthier version that you make at home. Air-pop it and don't put too much seasoning on it.

The American Heart Association says that popcorn has a lot of fiber, which helps you feel full and may lower your risk of getting heart disease. When you make popcorn at home, depending on what you put on it, it can also be low in calories, so you can enjoy this snack without worrying about eating too much. Add a little sea salt, chili lime seasoning, or cinnamon sugar to your popcorn to get the taste you like.

Edamame

Edamame are good for your health in many ways. Well + Good says that they are high in protein, so when you eat them you get a lot of natural energy and feel full for longer. Healthline says that edamame are also full of fiber and vitamin K and can help lower cholesterol. This makes them a healthy snack.

We love edamame not only because it is good for our health but also because it tastes sweet and buttery. You can snack on these green beans in many ways, including the traditional way, which is to steam them and sprinkle them with sea salt (similar to what you might find at your favorite sushi bar). But we like to try new things with our snacks, and we think that seasoning edamame with five-toast salt and sesame seeds is a great idea.

Watermelon

There's a reason why watermelon is a popular summertime treat. HealthyWomen says that not only is it low in calories, but it also has a lot of water (up to 92%) to keep you hydrated. This is why it tastes so good on really hot and humid days. And that pretty pink color isn't just for looks. WebMD says that the color comes from the antioxidant lycopene, which may help lower the risk of diabetes and cancer.

But you don't have to be 90 degrees and sticky to enjoy this juicy fruit. Watermelon is a healthy snack that can be eaten any time of the year. Just cut it up into slices or cubes and add it to your favorite salad. And if that wasn't enough to convince you to eat more watermelon, Healthline says this fruit is full of vitamins A, B6, and C, which can help keep your skin soft.

Hummus

Healthline says that hummus is a healthy snack that will do its job, which is to feed your hunger, because it is full of healthy fiber. Chickpeas, which are used to make hummus, are a type of legume that are very healthy on their own. (According to the Cleveland Clinic, chickpeas can help protect you from heart disease and diabetes.) Hummus is also made with other great things, like garlic and olive oil, which can help with inflammation.

Even though hummus is healthy, the things you eat with it might not always be. We know how tempting it is to load up on bread or crackers, which are fine in moderation, but if you're looking for a healthier, low-carb snack, you might want to stick with a side of cut-up veggies, like celery and carrot sticks. You could also eat a mix of vegetables and pita bread, which gives you the best of both worlds.

Granola Bars

Some granola bars might be just what you need if you want something sweet that will also fill you up. (Plus, they are the perfect snack to take with you on a walk, a hike, or a trip around town.) Granola bars are a great treat when you have a sweet tooth because they are full of tasty things like peanut butter, rolled oats, chocolate, and seeds. Women's Health says that these bars are healthy and full of fiber, making them a great snack for people who want something better for them. We like these homemade Almond-Quinoa Energy Bars a lot because they are sweet, chewy, and full of protein.

Choose your granola bars carefully, because some of them are full of sugar and carbs. You'll be able to tell the difference between these and the healthier versions pretty easily. Healthline says that the labels will not be made with natural and raw ingredients, but will instead have sugar and sweeteners added.

Apples covered in peanut butter

It's not new to hear that apples are good for you. People say that apples "keep the doctor away," so we already know that they are good for your health. Apples have a lot of a type of fiber called pectin, which Insider says can help your immune system and gut health. But did you know that the act of chewing an apple is also good for you? Everyday Health says that chewing helps you feel fuller faster because you take your time eating instead of wolfing down your food and not really enjoying it. How funny that works out. So, we say, leave the skin on and chew more.

Peanut butter is another food that can help you feel full for a longer time. WebMD says that peanut butter, in small amounts, is a healthy snack with a lot of protein that can help keep your energy up. When you put peanut butter on apples, you get a sweet and nutty snack that won't ruin your diet.

Cheese Strings

String cheese is another easy snack that you can take with you. Since string cheese comes in a package, it's easy to throw one in your bag to eat later. Just peel off the plastic, and you're ready to go. If you look at the nutrition label, you'll see that string cheese has fewer calories than other types of cheese. However, these little sticks still have a lot of protein to help you feel full. Eat This, Not That! says that if you want a string cheese as a snack, choose one made with mozzarella cheese. This type of cheese can have less salt and saturated fats than other types.

Sting cheese is good by itself, but you can also eat it with other things. Whole wheat crackers are a good choice if you want something with more crunch, or try string cheese with a side of fruit, like grapes, to make it feel like a picnic.

Hard-Boiled eggs

A hard-boiled egg is a simple snack with a lot of benefits. It is a lean protein that will fill you up. A hard-boiled egg not only has a lot of protein, but it also has a lot of vitamins and minerals, which are all good things for keeping your body healthy. For example, Healthline says that vitamin D helps your brain work well, and the Mayo Clinic says that the calcium in egg yolks can help keep your bones strong.

Boil a few eggs ahead of time so that they are cool and ready to crack when you are hungry. You don't have to just eat a hard-boiled egg as a snack, though. You can use your hard-boiled eggs in a lot of different ways, like making an egg salad or deviled eggs. Or you can make it really interesting by combining the best of both worlds: deviled egg salad.

Chips of kale

Kale is known for being a very green vegetable, which is true. You shouldn't turn down kale because it's good for your health. According to Medical News Today, it may help protect against cancer and type 2 diabetes, and it can also help keep your heart healthy. It's great to eat kale for dinner, and it's also great to eat it as a snack. We like kale chips because they are a healthier way to satisfy a craving for something crunchy. Nuts.com says that these crispy leafy greens can help give you more energy during the day. They are also low in calories, so you can eat as many as you want without worrying about your diet goals.

Also, kale chips are good in another way? They're very simple to make. Just bake them in the oven with your favorite seasonings (sea salt and garlic are always a good choice) and you're done!

Chia Pudding

Chia pudding looks like a very rich dessert, but it's actually very healthy for you. The chia seeds are the most important ingredient. According to WebMD, chia seeds are high in fiber and have antioxidants that can help fight inflammation. Not only are these seeds good for your body, but they also taste mildly nutty and are very versatile, so Bob's Red Mill says they can be added to almost any dish, no matter what the flavor profile is.

Chia pudding is tasty and filling, so you won't get those annoying hunger pangs an hour after snacking. If you like to plan ahead, try making cardamom coconut chia pudding with oats that you leave out overnight. You can get ready the night before, so the next morning all you have to do is eat.

Avocado Toast

We know, we know. Avocado toast is so popular that it's almost been done to death. We can't deny, though, that this healthy snack is a great way to fill up without sacrificing taste. Good Housekeeping says that avocados are full of fiber and healthy fats. If you pair it with the right bread, like multi-grain, you'll get even more fiber in that slice of toast. Your digestive system and cholesterol will thank you.

Another reason why we can't stop eating avocado toast. It's so easy to make, right down to the fact that you only need two things. But this simple dish is also very flexible, which is another reason why we love it so much. You can change it up by adding things like salmon, sesame seeds, tomato, or onion. A poached egg on top is, of course, the perfect mid-morning snack.

Guacamole

Making a fresh bowl of guacamole is a great way to get a lot of avocados and all of their health benefits. Since it's made with avocados, which, as we've already said, are full of healthy fats, it's a good idea to snack on guacamole. CookingLight says that guacamole is one of those snacks that, because of the mashed avocados, will help you feel fuller for longer. Even more health benefits come from the other traditional guacamole ingredients (not to mention so much flavor). SwedishAmerican says that chopped red onion has a nice bite and that the prebiotics in it can help your digestive system. The antioxidants in the tomatoes can help keep your heart healthy, and the anti-inflammatory properties of the cilantro can help with pain.

If you want something to eat with your guacamole, baked tortilla chips are a good choice (but don't eat too many, because they can be high in sodium). If you don't want to eat chips at all, vegetables like celery and bell peppers are great alternatives.

Fruit and cottage cheese

Healthline says that cottage cheese is a good all-around snack that gives you a good amount of protein and calcium. Cottage cheese can make you feel full because it is full of protein and has a thick texture. It also gives your body B vitamins and other nutrients. Cottage cheese is also a low-calorie snack, so it can fit into almost any diet plan.

Plain cottage cheese doesn't have a lot of flavor, but that's why it's so good. It goes well with a lot of different things, like fresh herbs and vegetables (we like to mix in dill, cucumber, tomato, and basil) or fruits like banana and pineapple. Don't worry if you don't have any fresh fruit or vegetables on hand. Mix in some applesauce and a little cinnamon for a quick, sweet snack.

Almonds dipped in dark chocolate

Dark chocolate and almonds go well together because they are both sweet and crunchy, but did you know that they can also be good for your health? The Daily Meal says that dark chocolate can not only help keep your heart healthy, but it can also improve your mood and make you feel great while you eat it. Everyday Health says that the fiber in dark chocolate "encourages the growth of good bacteria in the gut," which can help keep your gut healthy and your metabolism in check.

LiveStrong says that almonds are high in protein, which gives you the energy boost you need to get through that afternoon slump. When you mix them with dark chocolate, you get a healthy snack that has a lot to offer in a few bites. But don't go overboard. According to Healthline, dark chocolate may have less fat and calories than other candies, but it still has a lot of fat, just like nuts. If you eat too much of this snack all at once, you might be too full for dinner.

Chickpeas that have been roasted

Chickpeas, also called garbanzo beans, are a type of legume that is high in protein and has all nine essential amino acids, according to Fitness Gene. Some people think of them as a great "superfood."

According to Medical News Today, chickpeas also have choline, which can help with memory and controlling muscles. WebMD says that chickpeas can help lower cholesterol and keep your digestive system running well because they are high in dietary fiber.

You can eat these right out of the can, but roasting them will really take this snack to the next level. Putting chickpeas in the oven with olive oil, sea salt, and curry powder is one of the easiest ways to roast them. The final product will have a lot of flavor without being too much.

If you want to try something different, you can flavor your roasted chickpeas in a million different ways, like with our sweet and spicy maple za'atar recipe.

Tuna on crackers from a can

WebMD says that a can of tuna is a great snack for when you're really hungry because it's made of lean protein. The fish is also a good source of vitamin D, which is good for your bones and can make your immune system stronger. Healthline says that canned tuna also has iron and omega-3 fatty acids, which are good things that will help you fight fatigue and keep your heart healthy.

When you eat canned tuna, you don't even have to be fancy, which makes it even better. Stir in a little mayonnaise and capers to add flavor and make the texture smoother. Serve with low-fat or whole wheat crackers. If you want something heartier, try adding beans or an egg for even more protein that will keep you full until dinner, like a mini nicoise salad.

Smoothie made with fresh ingredients

When we think of smoothies, we immediately think of a healthy snack. However, some smoothies, especially those that are already made, can have a lot of sugar. Simple Green Smoothies says that if you make your own smoothie or get one from a juice bar (which we think is the best way to enjoy one), you can make it as healthy as you want by using only whole foods. Order or make your smoothie with no added sugars (the natural sugars in the fruit will make it sweet enough), and think about adding some protein (like yogurt, almond or peanut butter, avocado, or chia seeds) to help you feel full all day.

What you put in a smoothie really affects how healthy it is, so choose wisely. Fruits and vegetables each have their own health benefits, and adding protein isn't necessary, but it's a great way to keep yourself from snacking more, making it the healthiest and heartiest choice.

Frozen Yogurt

After a long day, who doesn't love a big bowl of ice cream? If you have a sweet tooth, you can stick to your diet plan by switching from your favorite ice cream to frozen yogurt. LiveStrong says that this frozen treat is not only tasty, but it can also help your digestive system because it can have live bacterial cultures. Eating frozen yogurt can also help with bone health and heart health, according to Organic Facts. Most frozen yogurt is also lower in calories and fat than ice cream. Just make sure to read the nutrition label and watch out for too much added sugar.

Treat frozen yogurt like you would ice cream and top it with your favorite things, like fresh fruits (or roasted strawberries), walnuts, or chocolate sauce (opt for dark chocolate, as we know that has the most health benefits). You can also get creative and make frozen yogurt bark, which is a popular snack made by freezing berries, yogurt, and honey on a baking sheet. Just take a break and have fun.

The Ants on a Log

You probably had ants on a log as an after-school snack when you were younger, but this healthy snack doesn't have to be just for kids. Michigan State University says that ants on a log, which is peanut butter spread on celery and topped with raisins, is a great snack for almost anyone, especially those who want something quick, easy, and healthy. This simple snack has only three ingredients and is easy to make. It has protein from the peanut butter, a satisfying crunch from the celery, and a touch of sweetness from the raisins.

This old but good song can be changed to fit your tastes. Healthy Little Foodies says that while the standard ingredients work well, you can always change things up by using a banana or cucumber instead of celery or cream cheese instead of peanut butter. You can use other dried fruit instead of raisins to keep the natural sweetness, or you can use olives if you want something a little saltier.

Greek Salad

The Mediterranean area knows a thing or two about healthy food that tastes good, and that includes salads. With all their bright colors, Greek salads are not only beautiful to look at, but they are also very tasty and good for you. The dish is low in calories because it's full of healthy vegetables and nutrients. It's also easy to change if you don't like a certain ingredient, which makes it perfect for anyone looking for a snack that's good for their diet. LiveStrong says that tomatoes, lettuce, and cucumbers are all good sources of vitamins C and A. Cucumbers are also a good source of potassium.

Traditionally, a Greek salad is made of tomatoes, cucumbers, onion, Feta, and olives, all mixed together with olive oil. However, you can always add more ingredients to the plate. If you want to keep it vegetarian-friendly, try adding lean proteins like chicken or fish, or slices of avocado. No matter how you make a Greek salad, the colorful mix of tasty and healthy ingredients will not disappoint.

Roll-ups of turkey

If you're looking for an easy-to-make snack that's low in carbs, you might want to try a turkey roll-up soon. EasyHealth Living says that the lean protein in the turkey will make a filling snack, but what we really like about this dish is that we can put it together however we want.

If you don't want to use a tortilla wrap or don't have any in your kitchen, you can use turkey or lettuce as the outside and roll it around cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, or a condiment like mustard. We also like to add a pickle spear for a little extra tang. If you're in a hurry or just want to keep things simple, you can always go with the classic combination of turkey and cheese. Both turkey and cheese are high in protein, which will keep you full.

Egg Salad

As we've already said, eggs are a good choice when you're looking for foods to add to your diet, and they're not just for breakfast. Eggs have a lot of protein, so eating one as a snack can give you extra energy when you need it. Penn Medicine says that they also help keep our brains and immune systems healthy. Fit Foodie Finds says that egg salad makes a great snack because it is low in carbs and filling, and you can make it your own by adding a few simple things.

You can use as few or as many ingredients as you want to make an egg salad. You can't go wrong with a little mayonnaise and some salt and pepper, but you can change things up by adding anything from Dijon mustard and chopped cornichons to fresh herbs, lemon, or even Greek yogurt. You can eat it right out of the bowl, wrap it in a piece of lettuce, or put it in a bell pepper or avocado.

Cucumbers and smoked salmon

If you want to upgrade your everyday snacking with something a little more fancy, why not try smoked salmon? Here's why we like smoked salmon: it's a good source of protein and, according to EatingWell, it also keeps our metabolism healthy. Two big wins in our book. Even when it comes to foods that are good for your diet, we want something that tastes good. That's why you won't find any unsalted rice cakes on this list. This ingredient is great because it has a strong, smoky flavor that we can't get enough of.

Smoked salmon on crostini is always a hit at parties, but it can be just as fun to eat at home while wearing sweatpants. You can put it on a cracker, but we like to put it on a cucumber with cream cheese (or Greek yogurt) and dill. One bite is like a flavor bomb going off in your mouth.

Caprese Skewers

Caprese skewers are a favorite snack because they are low in calories and easy to eat. You only need cherry tomatoes, bocconcini (which are small balls of mozzarella), fresh basil, and either a balsamic reduction or a little olive oil. This snack is easy to make and looks good as well. Bonus: Medical News Today says that fresh mozzarella is one of the healthiest cheeses because it has a lot of protein.

No need to worry if you look around your kitchen and can't find any skewers. You can still eat this dish the old-fashioned way by making it into a Caprese salad. Instead of putting the ingredients on skewers, you can just put them in layers on a platter. (This is also the best choice if you don't have mini balls and cherry tomatoes but do have regular tomatoes and mozzarella cheese.) We promise that your Caprese snack will be delicious no matter how you put it together.

Dried Fruit

Fresh fruit is a very healthy snack that fits with most diets, but we also love dried fruit. Even though some of the water was taken out when it was dried, that doesn't mean it isn't healthy. Harvard Health Publishing says that dried fruit is better for your heart and diet than fresh fruit because it has more fiber and antioxidants than fresh fruit. PharmEasy says that dried fruit can also help speed up your metabolism, if that wasn't reason enough to start chewing.

Aside from all the health benefits, another great thing about dried fruit is that you can eat it without much thought or preparation. You can eat dried fruit right out of the container, or you can mix it with nuts and granola to make a quick trail mix. Just make sure to check the nutrition label and pay attention to the portion sizes: Health.com says that some dried fruits have a lot of extra sugars added to them.

Artichoke Salad

We love artichoke hearts a lot. And, to be honest, how could we not be? Their mild, slightly nutty, and bitter taste goes well with so many other flavors, which is probably why they are used in so many different dishes. You can eat artichoke hearts in almost any way you want, but we like to add them to a simple salad as a snack during the day. Mix in red pepper, olives, and balsamic vinegar for a healthy and quick snack, or buy them already marinated and skip all the work.

Just be careful when you use marinated artichokes instead of plain canned artichokes. Livestrong says that these little flavor bombs can have a lot of calories and sodium, even though they are full of vitamins C and A. Depending on your diet plan, you might want to stay away from those things.

Baked Sweet Potato

You might think of sweet potatoes as a side dish that goes well with your favorite chicken dish. But sweet potatoes are also great as a snack or small meal on their own. They not only taste great (we love their mild sweetness), but they are also good for you. Everyday Health says that sweet potatoes are low-glycemic foods. This means that they won't cause your blood sugar to rise and are good for people with type 2 diabetes or who are at risk of getting it. And since sweet potatoes have a lot of fiber and water, they can help you live a healthy life, according to NDTV. Time says that sweet potatoes are full of healthy things like vitamins, potassium, and magnesium.

If you want to snack on a sweet potato, all you have to do is put it in the oven (or microwave) with a little oil and sprinkle some cinnamon on top once it's golden brown. You can also make your own sweet potato chips or mashed sweet potatoes with chopped pecans for a bowl of hearty goodness.
