Sierra Bradway had all the makings of a wonderful prom night. She had the dress, the shoes, and a handsome date. But there was one thing that the 17-year-old was missing… her dad. All the 17-year-old wanted was to take some photos with her dad, fallen police officer Ron Bradway.
So, she improvised. Sierra and her kind date Brock Spayd decided they would still get their photo by heading to the Indianapolis Crown Hill Cemetery in their prom outfits to take a picture with a framed photo of her dad.
However, what Sierra didn’t know what that her father’s police buddies would be there too for support and to help honor her father.

Sierra was greeted by officers on horseback and a dozen officers who lined the walkway to her father’s grave. Sierra was shocked, to say the least. Brock’s mother, who is a captain in the Marion County Sheriff’s Office coordinated the effort.
“There were a lot of laughs, some tears, but most importantly, there was love,” the caption read on the Indianapolis Police video. “Sierra, we know your father is smiling from heaven. Know that your Blue Line Family will always be here for you.”
Officer Bradway died while responding to a domestic violence call and saved a woman and her child who were being held at gunpoint.

“Everybody on the department talked about how big of a family man he was,” said Mike Pruitt, who worked with Officer Bradway at the fire department. “And how willing he was always to help people within and outside the department.”
That’s why Officer Bradway’s friends wanted to make sure they did something special for Sierra.
“Honored to be included in Sierra’s prom,” Chief Bryan Roach wrote on Twitter. “As our beloved fallen brother #OfficerRodBradway would say, ‘have Sierra home before 9P, sir!’”
Hopefully, Sierra got to stay out a little longer than that on her prom night but it was beautiful to see a girl have her daddy with her on prom night… even if it was only in spirit.
