A woman tried for years to fulfill her dream of becoming a mother, only to have those hopes dashed time and time again.
Melissa Kayser, 33, was beginning to lose faith after she suffered several miscarriages. When the total reached nine, the pain became so unbearable that Kayser was ready to give up.
After years of IVF and fertility treatments that provided no aid, doctors quietly suggested to Kayser that she consider a surrogate. It wasn’t something she was ready for.

“I was devastated because you think as women we are literally born to do one thing and that’s to reproduce and when you can’t do that one thing you feel like a failure,” Kayser told Inside Edition. “I didn’t know if I could emotionally handle another woman being able to carry my child.”
But after Kayser’s sister Lisa Auten witnessed the years of struggle and heartbreak, Auten decided it was time to step in.
“I couldn’t stand watching Melissa go through loss after loss,” Auten said. “She hurt so badly and she just wanted a child so bad. If I could help give her a family, then I was going to do it.”

Auten volunteered to be Melissa’s surrogate and doctors quickly began preparations for the procedure. They advised the sisters that Auten be implanted with two embryos, a standard method that helps ensure at least one will take.
But news quickly came that it wasn’t just one. Twins were on the way.
“I think we were all a little bit shocked. My sister was telling them to count again,” Kayser said. “My sister had a really good pregnancy and very little complications. I got to be at all the ultrasounds and got to feel the babies kick. We did a gender reveal and we tried to make things fun and memorable.”

Auten gave birth to two healthy baby girls, Tierney and Ashlynn, and Kayser couldn’t be happier or more grateful.
“Every day I am in awe. You hear women say you don’t really know love until you have children. They really do complete me,” Kayser said. “There’s never any words that I can say to thank her for what she did. She gave up a year of her life so that we could have a family. I could never repay.”

As for children of her own, Auten says that while she loved her pregnancy and loves the girls, she doesn’t have any immediate plans.
“I am just fine being an aunt,” she said.
Quite the aunt, indeed.

Have a carpet stain or need to break in that baseball mitt? Perhaps a bad case of sunburn? Just reach for some shaving cream!
There are all sorts of ways that you can put that foamy little wonder to work in your home. Here are some ways to use shaving cream that you probably have never thought or heard of.
Heal a Cold Sore
Rub some shaving cream on an external cold sore to soothe it. It should disappear overnight.
Remove stains from your carpet or clothing by spraying the stain with shaving cream and rubbing it in. Wipe it down with a damp sponge. If it’s clothing, launder per the label’s instructions. If it’s a carpet, let the stain air dry overnight.
Mix a few drops of food coloring into some shaving cream to create a finger paint that kids can use on sliding glass door, windows, or anywhere else. You can spray with some window cleaner and clear your mess away.
You can wipe down eyeglasses, goggles, mirrors, windshield, shower doors, and other items with shaving cream and a soft cloth to prevent the glass from fogging up.
Put shaving cream on your baseball mitt and place a baseball over it. Secure it with a rubber band and let it sit for several hours or overnight before wiping it away. This will help break it in.
Place shaving cream on a dish and drop some shaving cream onto it. Swirl it around with a toothpick so it looks marbleized. Roll your egg around in it and let your eggs sit for 30 minutes. Wipe the shaving cream off with a paper towel and enjoy your marbleized Easter eggs.
Javier Colon was no stranger to the music business. The American singer-songwriter, known for his “acoustic soul” style of music had worked with lots of musicians and was a member of EmcQ and The Derek Trucks Band before going solo.
He was even signed to Capital Records from 2002 to 2006, before he was dropped from the label. This experience was heartbreaking for him, especially because he was trying to support his family. He then started his own label called Javier Colon Music. He’s played with Joss Stone, Darius Rucker, the Indigo Girls, and Stevie Nicks.
But it wasn’t until his appearance on The Voice in 2011 that he made his mark in the mainstream. Javier stated in his interview prior to the audition that as a father, his kids meant everything to him. He said that musicians work week to week and month to month and that some months are good and others are not as good. He was auditioning on “The Voice” so that he could provide security to his family.
Colon auditioned for the show and played acoustic guitar and sang Cyndi Lauper’s classic ballad, Time After Time. Lauper recorded the song on her debut album, She’s So Unusual, and released it as a single in January 1984. It became her first number-one hit in the U.S. The song is a reference to the 1979 science fiction film by the same name.
Colon quickly wowed judges Adam Levine and CeeLo with his rendition as they simultaneously hit their buzzers during his performance. Christina Auguleria hit her buzzer shortly after. But there was one judge who needed convincing.
Blake Shelton was on the fence and didn’t seem to be as impressed with the performance as the other judges were. Levine was shocked and kept looking over at Shelton to try and convince him to hit the buzzer.
Even host Carson Daly couldn’t believe it, “Blake, you’re an idiot,” he said.
Eventually, Colon was able to win Shelton over as well. Shelton even ended up giving him a standing ovation. You can watch the performance that leads to his victory below.
