Soldiers return home and line up. Then little boy breaks all rules and runs into Mom’s arms

Children can be impatient, and when they’re as young as Cooper Waldvogel, age 3, is, waiting through a ceremony to finally see his mom again after 9 months can be one of the most difficult things to go through. That’s why, when he interrupted the ceremony to go and greet his mom, people didn’t seem to mind!
His mother, Kathryn Waldvogel, was away in Afghanistan for 9 months, and during that time, the young boy didn’t have his family together- undoubtedly difficult for everyone, but surely even more difficult for a three-year-old that can’t understand what being in the military entails.

When it came time for the two to be in the same place again, the young Cooper couldn’t wait and ran up to his mom. His father, who is also in the military, explained further that the excited little boy has always been this way – “He kind of did the same thing for me,” when he came back in December of last year.
The young child showcases what it means to love in a military family. We hope the family spends a lot of quality time together now that they are back under the same roof.
