What Your Heart Rate Can Tell You About Your Health

Is your heartbeat slow or fast?

In today's video, you will learn how your resting heart rate can reflect your current and future health!

Did you know that one of the easiest and maybe most efficient ways of evaluating your health can be done in 30 seconds and using only two fingers?

It may sound weird but knowing the number of beats per minute of your heart while you are at rest is a real-time examination to check how your heart is working. Isn't it interesting?

While a heart rate considered normal is between 60 to 100 beats per minute, most healthy relaxed adults have a resting heart rate below 90 beats per minute. Do you know yours?

According to experts, in some cases, having a lower resting heart rate can mean a higher degree of physical fitness – which is associated with reduced levels of cardiac events, like a heart attack.

Besides, the researchers also found that the higher the resting heart rate of a person, the higher is the risk of early death.

Although a low resting heart rate suggests higher physical fitness, some situations can make it too low, causing occasional dizziness and fatigue.

Talk to your doctor if your resting heart rate is too high, as there are ways of lowering it and keep it in the adequate range.

One of these things is keeping your cholesterol levels under control since they restrict the blood flow through the arteries and damage the blood vessels, which can make your heart beat faster than normal to move the blood through your body.
