  • Nutrient-dense: Processed foods that are high in essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and fiber, and low in added sugar, salt, and saturated fats are generally considered healthy.
  • Whole-food ingredients: Processed foods that use whole-food ingredients, such as whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, are generally considered healthier than those that use refined ingredients or artificial additives.
