Principal is diagnosed with cancer – Students surprise her with a gift that leaves her in tears

The students of one of the classes in a Bethlehem high school in New Hampshire were thrilled to go on a traditional four-day school trip to Rydin’ Hi Ranch in New York, but they quickly set their plans aside when they heard that their principal Courtney Vashaw was battling an aggressive form of cancer. Instead of going on the trip, they would much rather collect the money and donate it to their principal to help pay for her medical treatment.

One of the students, Ian Baker, said the following: “We decided to not go on our senior class trip this year and donate all of our funds to your cause.”

Classmate Hunter Leighton also shared his thoughts: “She is one of the strongest, most determined women I know, and if it can happen to her, you know anything can happen to anyone.”

When the students told Courtney about their plans, she couldn’t keep her eyes dry. WMUR was able to film the moment, and the students’ huge revelation left her absolutely speechless.

It is very hard for me to accept help, and I have no idea what to say to you” were the words that came of out her mouth. Vashaw originally wasn’t planning on telling her students but felt like she needed to explain her future absence. Only one week later, the students surprised her with their heartwarming effort.

Varshaw said: “They are (a) pretty remarkable, fun, astonishing group of people”. They all agreed unanimously to donate a sum of 8000 dollars for their principal’s treatment.

As if their act of kindness wasn’t impressive enough, they wouldn’t stop there. They all organized a car show a couple of weeks later and all the proceeds were collected to help Courtney. They also set up a GoFundMe page for her, as the medical costs are estimated to be very high.
Despite not going on their large school trip, the students have enjoyed themselves on a low-key weekend trip with the entire class.

“Wheel of Fortune” puzzle has internet’s imagination running wild, but contestant nails it

If there’s one game show that is known internationally and by a number of different generations, it’s ‘Wheel of Fortune’. Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past dozens of years, Wheel of Fortune is a game show where contestants must reveal a phrase that is slowly being revealed on a board.
Now as you’d expect, imagination can do some pretty funny things sometimes. Just recently, a new objective board in the game show was presented with only three small words, and more than half of the letters were already filled in. It seemed like an easy task.

However, as we know, not everything is as it seems. A picture of the game board was shared on Twitter where hundreds of people speculated about the only and correct answer to the board.
People guessed that the correct phrase would be “Sick at work”, “Luck at York”, “Hack at work”, “Lick it fork”, and some more slightly expletive suggestions as well. This Wheel of Fortune board certainly had social media puzzled.

Luckily, the actual contestant that needed to fill in the correct answer had much more luck in choosing the correct answer. In less than a second, the contestant replied with “Back at work” to score a well-earned point.
Simplicity can be marvelous sometimes.

Ragged old man’s rejected from bike shops. When 1 salesman is kind, he’s stunned by his reward

In practically every store, you’ll find a couple of crew members running around which are there at all times to keep an eye on the shop and spot customers who might need help with something. “How can I help you” is the phrase that is most often said when a customer enters the door.
Unfortunately, that one phrase wasn’t heard for a long time by Lung Decha from Thailand, an older man with a somewhat shabby look. He wore an oversized and filthy shirt, extensively worn out pants and was running around in flip flops.

Lung was going through a number of bike stores in his home country, but sellers just assumed he was a very poor person and was just roaming around with no intent to purchase a motorcycle.
The attendants of the bike stores simply ignored him whenever he tried to ask more information about the bikes, as they felt it would just be a waste of their time.

In one of the stores, however, Lung was treated with the same amount of dignity and respect as any other customer. The store clerk made sure to answer all of Lung’s questions and even showed him all the different bikes they had to offer to bring a smile to Lung’s face. However, he still didn’t expect Lung to actually be able to purchase a motorbike.
When Lung finally told the seller that he picked a bike and wanted to purchase it, he was stunned. The man handed over 600,000 Thai baht, which roughly equates to 17,500 dollars.

It turns out that the man was carrying around the money in his pocket the entire day, and waited for the one store that would welcome him.
The story about Lung and his dream of riding a motorcycle was shared by his sister on social media. Lung had been dreaming of this for a long time and worked extra as a mechanic to afford the bike.

Lung’s story proves that we should never judge a book by its cover, and this store clerk’s kindness and hospitality definitely paid off.

Her wallet is stolen. 8 years later, cop returns her the wallet with nothing missing

Courtney Connolly, now a nursing student, said that her wallet was stolen in 2009 when she was doing an internship in Wellfleet, Massachusetts. It was stolen from her car all those years ago, and Courtney was shocked to hear that the wallet, a gift from her brother, has returned all the way to Boston.
Somehow, the wallet found its way back to Courtney’s home state into the hands of a Boston police officer. Thanks to a pay stub that was inside the wallet, the police officer was able to track the childhood home of Courtney, where her brother now lives.

What’s even more surprising is that the wallet is in the exact same state just like all those years ago, including every credit card untouched and $141 in cash still inside.
“The cash was never used! The credit cards were never used! My social security number was never used!”, Courtney told to WFXT-TV. “Yes, it’s literally like it fell out of my pocket yesterday.”

Funnily enough, the wallet also contained a fortune cookie saying: “Soon you’ll receive pleasant news.” The cash that was still inside untouched was enough for to pay for Courtney’s membership for a powerlifting tournament.
“Ironically as soon as I get the wallet back, the next day I learned I actually passed my anatomy test! Which I had studied really hard for! So it’s the little things that keep jumping out at me and surprising me,” she said.
“I really hope if anyone can take anything from this: is not to lose hope in the good things that life has to offer,” Courtney concludes.

Blind dad has never seen wife and baby, breaks down when glasses let him see for first time

Loving husband and father Gene from Denver is practically blind. He was diagnosed when he was sixteen years with a rare eyesight aberration, Stargardt’s disease. Basically, that means that Gene can’t focus on things and can only see bits and pieces of the world, in a constant blurry state.
Luckily, Gene can rely on his smartphone with a zoom function to read books and he doesn’t let Stargardt disease take control of his life. He even enjoys cooking and his wife Joy mentions that he’s a much better cook than herself.

For over 21 years, Gene hasn’t been able to see his family, his parents, his wife and his newborn baby boy Lincoln, but that suddenly changed when Gene was given a high-tech set of glasses which would help him regain his eyesight.
His wife Joy recalls how the two lovebirds met. She was quite literally waving for attention, but Gene simply couldn’t see it. When he said he was blind, Joy offered to sit next to him and the spark of love quickly did the rest.

This heartwarming moment of Gene seeing his wife and son happened thanks to The Rachael Ray Show. Joy notices that Rachel had helped someone else with Stargardt’s, so she reached out to her and wrote a letter hoping she could help her husband as well.
It didn’t take long before Gene, Joy and Lincoln were invited on the set of the television program, and Gene received a pair of eSight glasses. The goggles use cameras and high-definition displays centered at the retina to allow Gene to have a much better focus and view which is similar to normal eyesight.

“I literally began shaking and crying for the next hour or more at the thought of my husband being able to see my face for the first time, to see our son for the first time,” Joy wrote in her letter.
When Gene finally puts on the glasses and sees his family for the first time, both he and his wife immediately get very emotional. The first thing he said when he laid eyes on Joy were “She’s pretty.” Gene also finally got to see his one-year-old son and his parents for the first time in 21 years.
What a heartwarming moment for a fantastic family!
