Is there anything wrong with using iodized salt if you don't have an allergy to it?

There is generally nothing wrong with using iodized salt if you do not have an allergy to it. In fact, using iodized salt can be beneficial because it helps to prevent iodine deficiency, which can lead to goiter and other health problems.

Iodine is a mineral that is essential for the proper functioning of the thyroid gland, which plays a critical role in metabolism and overall health. Iodine deficiency is most common in areas where the soil is deficient in iodine and in areas where people consume mostly non-iodized salt.

However, it's worth noting that consuming too much salt can lead to health problems such as high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke. Therefore, it is recommended to consume it in moderation.
