I’ve heard my son complaining to his friend that he doesn’t want to drink smoothies for breakfast anymore because they are so boring.
This was a week ago. Since then, he continued to drink smoothies every single morning. You know how kids are. They say something and then they do something completely different.
Somehow I couldn’t stop thinking how to make him a smoothie that will blow his mind.
I was at the mall this morning and on the way back I stopped by my favorite healthy store. An employee came to me right after I entered the store. She said hello and told me about a new 90% dark cocoa chocolate they got this morning.
That’s the first time they got a chocolate of that kind in there.
And then, it hit me. I knew right away how to use this chocolate.
Before I tell you the smoothie recipe, let me introduce you to the benefits of cocoa.
You will be amazed of what it could do to your body.
Let’s dig in:
- 1 cup coconut water or coconut milk
- ½ avocado or banana
- 1 tablespoon cacao powder or 2 cubes of 90% cocoa dark chocolate
- 1 teaspoon almond butter
- 1 teaspoon Maca powder
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla
How to prepare it:
- Mix all of the ingredients in your blender.
- Top with cinnamon and grated 90% cocoa chocolate
- Let it sit in the fridge for 5 minutes to thicken up a bit
